And lightskinned with having type 3 hair? There are darkerskinned black women who can have type 3 hair. And I see plenty of lighterskinned black women with 4c hair. I don't get it. What does skin color have to do with your hair type? And also I have met mixed race women with white mothers who have type 4b/4c hair.

Stereotypes have always existed.People are shocked when a dark skinned person has straight or wavy hair and a light skinned person has kinky hair.Well, that's genetics playing the game of blending the DNA.Just like any of us could come out having a baby with blond hair and blue eyes. The trait may be recessive but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Not really a big deal. But, I find genetics a fascinating topic.

Unfortunately, I do not.I love talking about science.Besides literature and philosphy I find certain aspects of science to be utterly fascinating. When I look at my mom and dad my nose doesn't like either one of theirs. Then, I look at my maternal grandmother's photos and my nose is her nose! LOL...Thanks gma..rest her soul!

its genetically more probable but as more races fuse you can't really tell. heck unless you knew your parents and grandparents genotypes you can't really tell what traits your kids will have. that being said some trait outcomes are just to be expected for example the chances of two brown eyed black people (whose parents were all brown eyed black people) have a blue eyed baby are very slim because that gene is extremely recessive or nonexistent. but if one grandparent had blue eyes then there is a slightly higher possibility. Hair is a bit more swing and miss than eye color though and more easily influenced by environmental factors than eye color but loosely follows the same rule of thumb. if the parents/grandparents have wavy hair then the child will likely get something similar (despite race)

what i do equate with dark skin is flawless skin. i don't know why but darker skin women seem to have some magic trait that gives them gorgeous skin. (for me every scar and pimple shows up like a flashing red light)

I agree. I have noticed darker skinned women tend to have flawless skin. Not to say they can't have blemishes and acne, but I don't see it as much.

It's due to genetics... If you are lighter you are more likely to have a parent or close relative that is has lighter skin and looser curls or straight hair. It's not guaranteed though...it is just more likely. Especially since people are becoming more mixed. I have kinda light skin (lighter end of medium...darker end of light) but I have tight 3c/4a hair. As ethnicities become more mixed so does hair.
