Default Chronic scalp dryness and dandruff

Hey Ladies,

I'm reaching out to you today because my mom is struggling with a constantly dry scalp and dandruff (my cousin is too). Any home remedies for this?

Thanks!

Henna. It's the only thing to work on my severe dermatitis. I had to do it every 3 weeks at first. Then I was able to go a month. Now I can go 6-8 weeks before I henna again. It's like magic for my scalp. And I've got dermatitis that's itchy and burns and can flake really bad. When it returns I see the red patches and it starts burning. That's when I know it's time to henna again. HTH

If you henna, don't forget a deep moisturizing conditioner because henna can be very drying especially to an already dry scalp.

Good point. And actually I did CN's henna gloss the last time and lived the result. My hair was much more moisturizer though I don't think my scalp got the total benefit. Anyhow- when I do a regular henna I DC with honey and grapeseed oil or coconut oil. Helps a lot.

Oh yeah. One other thing. On Dr. Oz today he talked about treating dandruff with ACV rinse sprayed on with a bottle right to the root and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before washing out. He recommended half water half ACV.

I usually do an ACV rinse on my scalp once a week. I dilute my ACV with water, pour through my hair, let sit for five minutes then rinse that baby out with cold water.

Also I don't wash my hair with hot water because scalp is skin and if its already dry it'll become worse. For dandruff I am now using Tea Tree scalp oil.
