Default Tips on Transitioning and The BC

I just talked to a friend today and they said i was going natural the wrong way. I constantly straighten my hair (that's what my mom likes) instead of doing natural hairstyles myself or getting braids. I've been transitioning for 5 months and i think i'll do a BC soon but i have to see. Please help me with my situation and tell me how you transitioned, did you BC, and what styles do you wear in your hair and what products do you use?

Hi! I transitioned with braids for 6 months. I couldn't take the clash of the 2 textures once I removed the braids. But constant straightening can interrupt ur hair's natural curl pattern. Meaning, ur hair might not curl after a while. But if wearing ur curls makes u happy, go for it! It is ur hair, after all.

I kind of accidentally went natural. I cut my bra strap length hair in January 2008 to about 3 inches long into a pixie style. I didn't know until then that my natural hair was really curly until then. As my hair grew, especially the tapered back I realized that I could stop relaxing and just get my hair washed and curled. When I decided to grow it out I constantly flat ironed it. I didn't really do wash and goes until last summer and wear my hair curly. There is no right or wrong way to go natural. To each his own.

I kept my braids moisturized with olive oil twice a week. Took them out after 6 weeks each time I got them installed. I bc'd on 2 August 2012! So free!!!!
