So i tried the asv over night and at times it irritated the hell out of my scalp but over all when it was time to wash.. it removed most but not all of the build up from my braids..

I inspected the sections....no tangles.... Any other reasons why the clumps may be feeling hard.

Hey guys are ther anytips for keeping mini twists neat? Actually not the twist itself because I use naptural85's method, but the roots? Mine always seem to fuzz up

Im not sure its protein. Its true, hydrolyzed proteins (aka hydrolyzed wheat, soy etc.) can make hair hard for people who are protein sensitive, but the ingredients list said hydrolyzed esters. From what I remember from class, esters are a different kind of compund than the amino acids that make up hydrolyzed protein. Hydrolyzed just means that water is added to break the compound up into smaller pieces.

My flax seed never does that. I used different oils in it. Mix it up every time I'm about to use some. But I use water on my hair then the gel and do mainly twist. Hope it stops for you.
