For Hollis:

Dusting

Dusting your hair is a trim of 1/4 and inch or less. This method is also referred to as dusting because even though your hair is being trimmed evenly, it is so little hair, that it just looks like dust on the floor.

Can you please help me understand hair types? I've seen references to 4A 4C 3A 3C etc. What does this mean?

slip is used to describe how slippery a product is (usually a conditioner or detangler)... the more slip it has, the more effectively it will coat the hair to aid in detangling.

AOHR (Aubrey Organics Honesuckle Rose) and HEHH (Herbal Essences Hello Hydration) are frequently referred to as conditioners with great slip.

Baggy - After you moisturize your hair at night, you put a shopping bag, plastic cap, shower cap on overnight.

Usually people use coconut/olive oil, heavy butter/cream (i.e. KBB butter or MJ buttercream) to seal the ends. It just means to apply product to your ends in an effort to keep them moisturized and limit breakage.

okay i've seen these terms thrown around and i was wondering if someone could explain them in layman's terms because the google just left me a little bit confused...

density,porosity and elasticity.

as it deals with hair.... confused

curlylexi, check out this site to learn more about henna: http://www.hennaforhair.com/faq/index.html

Basically, alot of women (both natural and relaxed) use henna for its conditioning and strengthening properties. It also helps thicken the hair. But you need to make sure you buy Body Art Quality (BAQ) henna and there's alot of "fake hennas" out there that are not pure.

The website has alot of good info and so does CN.com and the CN forums. HTH
