"Miconazole Nitrate is the main ingredient found in Neosporin AF and

Has anyone experimented with this as a growth aid? Every post/blog I've ready said to use it with caution. I am considering trying it but I don't want anything crazy to happening... like waking up bald or my hairline growing down into my eyebrows, LMBO! That's not sexy. I've read ...

Hello Ladies, (week 1)

Seeing all the other beautiful curlies has aspired me to take this challenge again (I got swiped last time...lol)

My title "cautious curls" comes from me taking my hair transition journey slowly and cautiously. I am not really in a rush to try new things without thorough research. Just trying to stick with a routine that will work all the time and look cute.

My last perm was March 2009. My anticipated BC date is March 2010. However I must admit I have ...

Hi guys!

Some of my subscribers (YouTube) know that I have decided to do a twistout challenge. I figured since it is getting colder in Germany, (and the many fairy knots I get...lol!) I decided to wear my hair in two strand twist for four months. I actually started my challenge January 2, 2010. So that was about 3 weeks ago and so far I have been sticking ...

I had longer hair with 11 months of natural growth and was going to transition to natural but Saturday morning I woke up and cut all of the perm out of my hair. I don't really know how I feel about it yet. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I have to product search to find out what will work with my all matural hair now and my hair is SUPER dry...it was like matted to my head when I woke up Sunday morning so that was a real bummer. Any suggestions for moisture would really be appreciated.

I usually DC overnight from Friday to Saturday, co-wash Saturday morning and style (which can take hours).

Ok so I have no recollection of what I said in my original post so.....

I will start by saying that I have never had a relaxer but always blow dried and used curling/flat irons on my hair for as long as I can remember. Whenever I wore my hair curly it was only for 2 or 3 days and it was most often pulled back. I tried way back when to like my curls and bought so many products in an attempt to tame the frizz and make it look good but got too frustrated and discouraged.

I'm joining this challenge because I was told I had to have something in writing by Monday.

So like so many others, I feel I have nothing really to offer except what I've learned along the way. I look to you all for guidance and hair wisdom.

Let's see I believe I started getting my first relaxer around 8 years of age. Then around 11 or 12 I started caring for my own hair. I can't really remember what my texture/hair was like when I was a young natural except that ...

Hi all, I am glad to finally have found ways to properly care for my curly hair. I have been natural for nearly nine years. I started because I was putting perms in my hair about every six months. I then decided I could forego the relaxer permanently, . I would wear twists, braids, buns and twist and braid outs. I had no idea how to properly care for my hair. I would wash my hair every two weeks followed by conditioner, and I used Isoplus on my hair and scalp.

Well I did it! My BC was today at 2pm. I am officially au naturale. I'm not going to lie, as excited as I was, I was terrified. I went boldly to my stylist and told her that I wanted to cut off the relaxed hair. But as soon as she put the scissors to my hair, I said "Wait, are we cutting already? Couldn't I get some sort of warning???" LOL. After it was done, I was nonetheless shocked. It's very different seeing your natural hair by itself than seeing new growth mixed in with relaxer. ...

Hello ladies!

My journey to natural was a happy accident that didn't seem so happy at the time. In fact, it was traumatic! A reaction to a medical procedure caused my hair to break off at the root. My stylist suggested that I stop perming because of my medical situation. Since I have no patience, I BC'd instead of getting a touch up on my perm...so I had somehere in the neighborhood of 6-8 weeks of new growth.

A year after that I BC'd again (I still had some scab hair) and a year after ...

Hi ladies,

I BCd this past Friday (March 5). My initial plan was to BC on my 21st birthday, October 2, but that was not working...on Friday it was wash day and I just could not stand the idea that I would have to deal with that tangled mess and then try to set it on flex rods or something. So, I went to the barbershop and cut it! I transitioned for four months. It grew in unevenly, so I lost some growth by letting the barber even it out (but I'd rather have even hair than length LOL). I reeeaaalllyy ...

So I've been natural now for about 3 years. My hair is super fine. Most of the time I wear it in a bush. I'm tried of the bush. I don't feel cute or pretty and I'm just bored. I tried to get a full weave. I had it in for 2 weeks before taking it out; along with some of my hair line...cuz my hair is so fine. I was thinking about getting sister locks, but I changed my mine. I don't know what to do with it. Every time I got to the salon to get it style, it never looks right. I've gotten flexi-rods, ...

The owner Pamela is very nice. I had trouble with my order because for some reason I wasn't getting the 20% discount and also the $2.95 shipping fee was being applied to each product. I contacted customer service and within less than 1/2 hour the owner emailed me and apologized for the error with the system and PayPal and quickly refunded my money for the 20% and extra shipping fees.

I would really like to henna my hair, but would prefer to use the simplest mix this first go round just to see how it will affect my hair. I know the BnB website says just henna and lemon juice, but I've heard the lemon juice is drying. I know some people use teas and all that but it just seems complicated. Also my ears aren't pierced and i wear clip ons but i know that with a short cut earrings will be essential. Do any of you know of some cool places to get clip ons?

Ok so I've been natural since Nov 2007. Over TWO years now. I've had braids in and upon occasion I will straighten it.

I really enjoy color though. Right now I'm recovering from hair color that I got back in August. It was a vibrant dark red with purple undertones. It has faded something fierce.
So the Sat before this past one I cornrowed the front/twisted the back of my daughter's hair with a shea butter/coconut oil mixture on wet hair. I mixed unrefined shea butter with a coconut oil mix I brought at a bs that has coconut, essential oils in it. Her hair stayed soft and during the week I noticed I could still smell the shea butter in it. Well this past fri I was going to wash it sat so I took out the twists. Today I finished taking out the braids and my hands were greasy from the shea ...

I have 3C curly hair that I've been growing out for the last 2 years and it's now down to the middle of my back. Naturally, I have had a hard time trusting anyone to do my hair but I'm ready. I've read that curly hair should be cut dry but can it be cut wet as well ...

I have been natural(without chemicals) for 5 years now. I, however, always straightened my hair with flat irons.

Last summer I experimented with going completely natural. I only kept it in a ponytail or under a wig

During those months, I grew my hair so much! I always had end of neck length hair, and it grew so much I thought ...
