I am a 17 yr old class of 2013 and I am going natural have been since the beginning of the month due to perm breakage and just wanting my hair free and able to express itself. I am seeing a lot of people talking about the BIG CHOP and I really don't want to do it...ate there anyways around it? My hair is wavy where there is perm and spiral curls where there is not.

Braid extensions and weaves are possibilities if it's about you not wanting to wear your short hair out

Make sure you keep A LOT of moisture in your hair. I would recommend the Shea moisture transitioning kit. It's about 22 dollars at wal greens . If you like it you can buy the conditioner and shampoo at target . It's a little expensive but it works wonders. I also use kinky Kurly knot today as a detangler and deep conditioner. You can also buy some oils from camdengrey.com . Natural oils are really good for your hair. I wouldn't suggest braids though. I got them and they tore my permed ends off REAL bad. Look on naptural85 and khandilovesya YouTube channel . They have great hair regimens and tutorials on transitioning styles! Good luck!!
