I am a high school senior I transitioned for about 4 months,then BC on October 8,2012.while I was transitioning I did Bantu knot outs.when I went to school not a lot of people notice until later on.at first my mom and dad hated it so much,but know that I have grown it out and do really cute hair styles,they love it.and most of the girls in the school are going natural now,idk it's like a fashion trend,however I didn't do it for the trend,I did it because I had no other choice my hair was really damaged and cut short.

I'm ready to BC but I know my coaches will throw a fit, and I just got asked to be in Varsity... Idk if I should risk it.

16 years young..been transitioning since June 26 , ill be 6 months post December 26. I'm in love with my new growth, my curl pattern is loose! I do Bantu knot outs because that's all I know how to do lol sometimes my mom'll flat twist my hair for me, I only straighten my hair sometimes but when I do it usually doesn't last long caus the permed part stays straight but the permed part puffs up :/ so whatever. I use hot six oil, ecostyler and aloe Vera pomade for buns and updo's I use Shea moisture restoring conditioner and shampoo, it has not sulfates either. And I use v05 moisture milks conditioners. They work great and their about 89 cents at walmart

I see why not. Just find an alternate style that works and looks good with your bow. Or if its too short a Girl on my Team glued her bow on a headband. You could just wear a wash and go,braid out ,etc and throw your bun on that would be Kewtttt.
