here's an update from the end of november:
![]() ![]() ![]() my length hasn't changed much 😕 now my hair is in my winter protective style, braid extensions. my braids are about 3-4 weeks old in this pic: ![]() ![]() i want to try witch hazel to clean my scalp while in braids, luvnaturals products (cos i tried to be like nap85 and use natural products but my hair doesn't like it so ima just keep jojoboa and coconut oil), and avocado butter. i'm also in desperate need of a professional trim cos my ends are an endless cycle of split ends and breakage (no matter how many times i trim them myself with shears), i keep putting it off tho cos deep down i wanna believe my hair can grow longer without being cut... but my ends are ratchet. yep, so that's my update. So I'm still trying to reach waist length. I'm starting out the year in yarn twists, and since they're simple to do by myself and so cheap I figure I could keep them in until around June/July and simply redo areas as needed.
I've noticed that my hair ALWAYS grows way faster when I do absolutely nothing to it. So I'm really going to stick to this plan. I didn't really do a length check before installing but I'm probably in that stage between apl and bsl. The longer pieces being bsl though. Hope you ladies are still striving towards your goals, and making good progress. Sent from my ADR6350 using CurlyNikki App |

so i'm about to take out my braid extensions and i'm debating whether i should do african threading or wear my hair loose for a couple weeks before i get braid extensions again for a trip i'm going on. i've never worn my hair loose except once with a curlformer set that frizzed last summer. i want to wear twist/braid outs to school but i'm worried about maintaining it during the week when i'm busy and how ppl will react (even tho i shouldn't care) cos everyone at my school has that good hair/bad hair mentality.
what do you guys think i should do? |

Hi Ladies!
I know I've been MIA for a while, but I've just been very busy. I cut my hair a few inches to just below CBL. However, I'm not sure about reaching waist length by around July. The reason for this thread wasn't necessarily to achieve waist length, but to have a support thread for teens and young adults wanting to grow. Good luck and continue growing ladies! (:

so i wore my natural hair for about a month and got senegalese twists this past sun. they only took 5 hours and i loveeee them. i've never gotten them before so i hope they last. i plan to wear them until may and take them out for senior picnic, prom, and graduation.

Just stretched out a few random pieces in the back, and it was just about reaching mbl.
I'm thinking of installing some yarn twists, so maybe that'll help boost my growth. Sent from my ADR6350 using CurlyNikki App |
