Braids with weave

Post by NhappyJackie on 14th January 2010, 4:47 pm

I am going to braid my daughter's hair this weekend with weave. It looks like it could be breaking off, so I am going to DC it first. This is her first time with weave. Are there any precautions I should take? Are there any DC recommendations?

Please take care of her edges! Use less tension around the edges.

When my daughter was two her hair broke off/fell out. It went from shoulder length to I good barely it braid it in some areas. I am still not sure why. She had a bad break out from eczema, the dr gave me a cream and said it was safe for her hair. Now I know it causes hair loss. Anyway she is 7 and now and we are finally seeing some results with hair growth. However I do not think it is as thick as it use to be. I made sure I kept her scalp clean and hair well conditioned. Also I cornrowed her hair and did box braids. When I did get cornrows done with weave hair I made sure they were not tight and I moisturized daily. I always did cornrows cause I didn't want her or her friends pulling on the braids. I also never kept them in more than 2 weeks.
