I hope this helps you guys w/ trying to find a local meetup or event in the natural community! It is with our groups and the support of them that will get our local stores to carry MORE of the products that we use on our natural hair. We have to show up and show the world that there are naturalistas in the Deep South as well as the big cities (ie. NYC, ATL, CHI, etc). I might live in Mississippi, but I live in a 2011 Mississippi...not 1911 Mississippi. Feel me? #imjustsayin In working w/ these company sponsors, I've learned what we have to do in order to see a change occur. So, let's make it happen, bellas!

Check out the Red Stick Naturals Meetup Group. They actually just hosted a meetup, this past Saturday as we did. They are in Baton Rouge, so that group would be perfect for you.

Hey chica....

There is actually a lady (Mary Rucks) on Facebook, who really wants to start a meetup group in Monroe. If you're comfortable with doing so, I say reach out to her and see if you ladies can start having gatherings in Monroe. I gave her some advice on getting started and she is planning to put things in action, when the new year rolls in.

I made a facebook page for those interested. Its called "North Louisiana Natural Hair Meet-up". If someone wants to organize meet-ups, feel free to join this page and meet other naturals within the North La area. I dont mind organizing more events when I come back home, considering I live in Dallas, and busy planning my meet ups here, Im willing to help someone back home. I would love to see more support within the natural hair community in Louisiana!!
