Default Is Shea Moisture for Me? (Yucca and Baobab)

I have alotta heat damage and my hair is a bit floppy when wet.

I'm looking into a deep treatment with protein for my hair and I think I'd like to try the Shea Moisture Yucca and Baobab Masque. I also hear the biotin is good. I don't want to use something like Aphogee yet because I'm still getting the hang of doing my own hair, and I'm kinda freaked out at the thought of my hair hardening alot.

So... what are your thoughts on the Yucca and Baobab Masque?

When you say "hardening," do you mean brittle or the product getting hard on your hair?

If your concern is brittle hair, that can be prevented with a moisture DT right after.

Shea Moisture makes great products. Try it a few times and see if you like it.

Thanks. I'm liking the reviews I have been reading about their products so far. And I meant "hardening" as in the protein treatment hardening while drying on my hair. :/ Maybe one day I will try it lol.

OK. That one is pretty severe. They also make a 2-minute one that doesn't harden. You can use it in the shower. If your hair is seriously damaged, it won't do anything for you. It's more of a maintenance product.

Yeah I read a little about the 2 minute treatment. I think I will have to go with the full on treatment if I use Aphogee though. I'm going to look into Shea Moisture and see what it does for me first. I really hope I like it!

Aphogee is the only protein treatment that I know of and has had some good reviews so I'm putting it in the maybe box for when I get brave! lol

Thanks so much!

I LOVE the Shea Moisture Yucca and Baobab Anti Breakage Madque.I've been using it every week for about a year.It is considered to be a light protein treatment. It works very well for me.Currently, I rotate between this mask and the Nubian Heritage Extend & Repair and Grow & Strengthen Treatment Masques.

Nexxus Emergencee is a beasty protein treatment that doesn't require a dryer. You use it in the shower and leave it on your hair for 2 minutes or so.

This looks slightly more exspensive but I like the sound of it lol. My only problem is the parabens. I cant find an ingredient list for Aphogee but Nexxus has them. I haven't washed/conditioned/treated my hair with parabens or anything like that in over a year. Im not vehemently against those ingredients but I'm on a natural roll lol.
