Default Which items do you prefer?

I'm purchasing *more* hair products and if someone has tried products by these companies, could you please tell me which products you like versus ones from other companies that I'm listing. I have very thick/coarse hair. I think the type is 3b to 4b. I think low porosity? I'm basically looking for styling products/items to add curl definition or texture.

Not too big on gels.

Also I'm looking for the 4abc thread or something like that and can't find it. I've tried various searches and can't locate it. If someone could give me the name of the thread, I would appreciate it.

The products that I'm looking at are by:

Oyin
Curl Junkie
Jessicurl (Confident Coil and may consider TooShea)
Original Moxie
Qhemet

I'm very smell sensitive. The closer things smell to basic items like coconut and food items, the better. I also don't do well with lavender and highly floral items.

Also are there cheaper/ground versions of any of the stylers in the above categories. For example, does one product translate to aloe vera gel with conditioner, etc.?

I have only tried curl junkie from your list. I love the conditioners. The smoothing lotion is my favorite. I have twisted and done a conditioner only wash n go with it. It is moisturizing, has a lot of slip, and makes it very easy to style. I also love the strengthening conditioner and the argan and olive oil daily conditioner.

I think this is the thread you are lookin for

If you are sensitive to smells, I don't know if it would wise to get Original Moxie. The smells of the products are very earthy/floral, and besides them being a little high, that was one reason I couldn't use her products. But the smell doesn't linger.

Jessicurl is my fave. Although I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their scents, they are available in unscented. I like the Too Shea. I haven't tried the Confident Coils solution yet, but I do have some, and I hear using some of it coupled with the Too Shea gives great results on wash and gos, twist outs, etc.

Qhemet products are lightly scented, sort of citrusy, but again, very moisturizing. The smell is very faint.

Curl Junkie conditioners smell great. However, they just weren't enough for my thick Coily hair. The Deep Fix was pretty good though, and the smell was amazing, like Bubble Gum.

Oyin BSP is very heavily scented, smells like maple syrup and it lingers. The Hair Dew smells the same way. I personally like it.

I've only tried Oyin:

Love the Honey Hemp hair dew (love the smell...), the honey wash shampoo in rich almond (favorite scent), the Whipping cream, and all the juices.

Thanks BB for your in depth description. That's exactly what I need. I have smelled a few samples of OM and no, lol, I didn't like the smell but was thinking it would smell a little different once it's on my hair. It wasn't awful, I think one of the items smells like it has clay in it so I think it will go away.

The crazy thing with maple syrup is that I eat it but can't stand the smell to linger in the house or sometimes can't stand to smell it. That's a weird one that I haven't figured out yet. I've read a lot of reviews and some people totally hate the smell of the Honey Hemp Dew. They had me @ Honey but lost me @ Hemp, lol, so I think I will pass on that one and maybe try the Dew.

Original Moxie is great if you don't want heavily scented products. It smells like sandalwood.

I love the smell of Oyin's BSP, like butterscotch, can't remember if it lingers. Original Moxie's Hair Bling IMO smells horrible, it's the combo of citrusy bergamot and clary sage, way too herbal for me, unsure of its linger.
