What's the purpose of conditioner, moisturizer, buttercremes, gels, and the oils?

What goes with what: conditioner, buttercremes, gels, and oils.

1)"the wet look" using gels
2)"twistouts"

When you shampoo your hair, the shampoo, lifts and opens the cuticle, to better get dirt, and grime, etc. A conditioner closes the cuticles, to prevent snags, and dryness and things of that nature. Butters like shea help keep moisture locked in. Same goes for Castor oil and coconut oil. A lot of oils and butters also have a lot of vitamins and anti-bacterial properties as some of the added styling benefits. Particular butters, and thicker oils aid in making the hair soft and sealing in moisture. Oils can be lighter or heavier, depending on which kind, also play a role in helping to keep moisture and shine part of the hair. Certain oils are also very good for scalp massages, and deep conditioning, dry scalp, and various other ailments. I don't know much about gels, except for the fact that it helps keep a certain style in place. And also, could you clarify the last part of your question?

For twistouts, What goes with what for maximum results? Right now, my regimen is to shampoo/condition my hair. Apply leave-in conditioner/buttercreme, then apply eco styler gel or aloe vera gel. It's okay, but i think it could be better.

For the wet look "wash n go", i use conditioner and gel.

I just wanted to know, is this the norm, or what are other ways to style hair with less time.
