So other people and friends say 'why is she so obsessed w/ this?', well you havent live in my shoes.

*You didn't have to go to the hospital with me to get boils cut open and drained,
*Or have needles stuck in your head to drain them.
*You didn't endure the burning sensation on my scalp daily with me.
*You didn't have to sit down with a hot aloe vera plant wrapped around your head. (carib style - aloe healed everything they say)
*You didn't endure the embarrasment of large lumps in the VERY FRONT of your head for everyone to see.
*You didn't have ppl CRINGE in disgust when combing your hair.

My scalp starting to heal a few years ago

I still have damage on my scalp from all that i've had to endured (which could be apart of me having fine hair b/c of damaged folicles) but I believe i've done a great job of restoring health to my scalp - as much as possible.

My attachment w/ hair is a bit emotional but i'm glad to be at the stage i'm at now.

So let me be happy and SHARE in the feats i've achieved!
I didn't know that I'm sorry you had to go through that, and you definitely deserve to be happy after all that! Be obsessed for as long as you want give em something to talk about :P

So today I did my very first wash and go! Yes sir I sure did! Now I've been natural for most of my life but I have been clueless to a lot of things when it came to styling and taking care of my scalp and hair.

I always wanted to try a wash and go but only saw ladies with looser textures do them and figured it wasn't for me. What changed my mind?? I have no earthly idea but I didn't want to be confined to specific styles so I gave it a go.

I watched africanexport's most recent video on her wash and go, saw that we have similar textures, so I used her method.
The products I used were; Kinky Curly Knot today, Castor oil, and Eco styler olive oil. (Applied in that order)

My curlfriends here on the forums gave me some tips and a lot of confidence because I was having an anxiety attack just thinking about the disaster it could become. I was afraid of knots and thinking I'd have to trim my hair to get rid of them; I was worried abt breakage and tangles.

Well after running around the house like a maniac I'm happy to report that I've completed my first wash and go. It's still drying but I absolutely adore the results. Never though I would wear my hair like this ever!

Don't mind the face I'm super happy! Unaffected Modesty --imageuploadedbycurlynikki1358799767.715875.jpg

Will post more pics of how it looks dry and maintained.

Awww @ that face lol. I think your wng turned out to be pretty cute. I was lurking in the type 4 thread earlier and you sounded just like me when I first started doing wngs. My first one was a total fail. I then got better but it was on days that I wasn't going anywhere. I was self conscious about wearing them outside mostly in fear of it blowing up too much from the summer heat. I later grew to love them as a staple style.

It looks good! You're making me brave enough to try a wash n go, does your hair dry pretty fast or slowly?

Love it! Funny how I was sitting here dreading the same thing as I read this. Reason being, is because my hair isn't all the way natural. I'm afraid what the relaxed hair will look like. Is there a such thing as a wng on partially natural hair...partially relaxed hair...whatever¡? Lol!

I think my hair has a partial mind of its own. My looser texture dries faster than the rest so I took the blow dryer on cool to dry the rest. It gave me some body as well.
