Ok so back to this product junkie thing. I buy all these products because:

1.) I love to shop
2.) I love learning about my hair.
3.) I love options (different smells, different combos & different looks)

All of the products I use present different results for the most part. In learning about my hair, I learned that it's HIGHLY sensitive to humidity in the air. I need different levels of humectants and anti humectants depending on the level of moisture in the hair. As the temperature dropped in the Burgh and the dew points went down, I learned that my hair cannot tolerate glycerin as one of the 1st 5 or 6 ingredients. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Donna Marie's Dream curling cream & super buttercream but if the dews are lower than 40, its a no-go. I can't wait until spring so I can use this stuff again, it's my favorite glycerin styler.

I'm still learning my winter hair, but one thing I have learned so far is that my hair is LOVING oils in these low dewpoints. I have finally found my winter Deep Conditioner which is the B.A.S.K. Cacao Deep conditioner. I've talked to a few of you ladies on here about it and here's the skinny:

The texture reminds me of Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment masque. I used that masque very early on, right after I big chopped. However i've since outgrown it. It really doesn't do anything to my hair unless I add oils to it. But it's thick and super creamy. You turn that jar over and it doesn't move. The B.A.S.K. DC is just like that. THICK!!! And the smell....omg....CHOCOLATE MOUSE! When I put it in my hair, there wasn't much slip and I worried that this may not be 'all that'. This isn't the kind of DC that I would detangle with. But it does something once it's there, it straight up & down puts moisture into my hair. A lot of it!! That's what i'm looking for; results! When I was using the Jessicurl WDT, I felt like I needed to cowash mid week to add mositure. Since i've been using the BASK, only cowash if I want to. I heard thru the grapevine that some chicks were trying this as a leave in. I'm super tempted because it feels like it's feeding my hair. But since it's not really dry I'll just hold onto for my wonderful deep condish sessions

So that was sunday. I washed with As I Am Coconut cowash, did a 20 min heat cap with Curl Junkie's Beauticurls strengthening conditioner and then did an hr with the B.A.S.K. DC. I then did about 20 2 strand twist, wet using Koils By Nature Leave in, Original Moxie's Hair Bling and Koils By Nature Gel for some hold. Lastly I dried with a diffuser until it was about 70% dry and let the rest dry overnight. 1st attachment is day 1, and the second is day 2.

Tonight, i'm gonna re-twist with Koils by Nature Nourshing hair & body butter and Curls milkshake as my leave in. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Thanks Chelley! Sage carried the KBN stuff too so I'll let you know when there's a sale. My hair is so moisturized that I felt the Milk Amino acids could do it some good right now. I don't want it to get mushy, which I'm sure it wont b/c its mad cold in the Burgh again. It was 60 yesterday, right now it's 30

Girl! I was just looking at the B.A.S.K. website yesterday and saw that DC and was thinking of giving it a try next time I allow myself to buy anything. Now that I'm reading what you said about it, I'm definitely going to get it. My hair gets dry so fast...I need all the moisture I can get!

Your hair looks gorgeous by the way. And you'll have to give me makeup lessons. It's so not my thing lol!

I'm so glad a pj has a blog...it's l Iike having denimpixie on cn forum...I'm in rehab and it's a daily struggle. I have a bss that carries donna marie, my fav line qhemets, curls, curl junkie, keracare, mixed chicks and has added as I am and kinx to their product line... I want to try donna marie superbutter, miracle condish, and the leave in/refresher. I dont need a curl cream cuz I have darcy's avocado & honey, curling style (leave in) thick cream and the gel in a bottle and keracare twisting cream plus I use smdtm as a styler. Oh yeah I have oyin whipped pudding and shine and define (love). This winter I do mostly twists under wigs and prot updo styles where m'ends are tucked away so I dont know how my hair reacts to products. I just know I use too much stuff and my reggie if over complicated but my hair of soo growing...seriousely I realized I have 14 different oils and I have nerve to be eyeing more to buy. I tried to scratch the ones I won't repurchase I came to a final number of 10! Really? So i'll be checking out the combos you use and trying to see how I can mix and match different products to get stellar results...
Question I read you use sweet almond oil and avg as sealant? Do u add the oil into the gel and does it give hold?
