Default Dark&Lovely

I decided I would start a blog sort of. I figured I would be able to keep up with all the help I get here. Lemme tell a little bit about myself.

I am 21 years old. I have only been fully natural since August. I live in Indianapolis. I am currently a imaging sciences student. I am studying to be a x-ray tech. My hair is a TWA, its longer on top, shorter on the sides and the back. Before I cut my hair all the way off I had a short little cut. I will try to include pics at the end of my lil introduction. Anywho, my hair is dry. Currently I am using aussie moist, green grease, grape seed oil, and 14&1. I am currently super bored with my fro. I cant french braid or anything lol. I usually just pull one side back&call it a day.

My first post!! Woo woo woo -Sinclair voice-

Hi guys!! Sunday I started using the LOC method. If you arent familiar with the method it is when you use a leave of your choice (I use aussie moist currently), the your favorite oil (I used grape seed oil this morning), and then finally a non-based cream (I used grease) and I added some extra 14&1. My hair actually feels a bit softer. It has been a journey trying to find something that actually works. I have tried everything. We'll see how it goes. Annnnnyways, tomorrow I am going to go get a trim. My ends are a little..off. Probably from not being moisturized. I am also dying my hair back to black. If you cant tell there is a hint of red. I did that a couple of days after I got my short cut. It didnt really take&I have been trying to grow it out, but as I stated before Im bored. Since I am coloring my hair will I have to DC more often, and will I have to include some sort of protein treatment also? If so, can you suggest a treatment?

I think its going pretty good. I only have one complaint, my hair is dry by the end of the day. Not as dry as usual, but dry.

I tried the LOC method this a.m. My hair has been in two strand twists for a couple days under beanies (gosh those thangs are making me so hair lazy) but I didnt notice any difference. I will revisit that method after I take twists out.

Miss k, maybe some curlies will weigh in on what they do to moisturize or offer suggestions. I know the curlie mission statement is 'do what works for you' but gosh darn, nothing like having ideas and options on different products/methods to try. Hit or miss.

I shampoo and deep condition weekly. Now that i have that Hair Therapy Wrap thingie I'm that ish....lol. I use conditioner to detangle and also use a leave-in. During the week i moisturize using the L. O. (no C.) method a few times a week.

Good luck!
