Ok, so I've been asked to do this a hundred times, and each time I'm like "Nah, a blog is too much responsibility. What if I don't have anything to say?" But someone just brought it to my attention, if I don't have anything to say - don't say anything. Brilliant huh? I love how it takes a perfect stranger to teach you the obvious sometimes *side eye*. I'll give my degrees back now.

Anywho, for those who don't know, Ms Hood is my real name - no creative stories to tell. My name is Michele and I became natural almost 11 years ago. There was no sign from GOD, turning point, bells ringing, bad experience or anything special. I'm the Denise Huxtable type - so I'll try anything. Natural just happened to be the 1 thing I hadn't done with my hair *shrug*. I didn't expect for it to be hard. I figure hair is hair right? Good thing GOD looks after babies and fools...

1st year, I wore braids. Whatever kind I could get so I didn't have to do hair. Did I mention I don't like doing hair? Cant even cornrow. Now you're starting to see the fool reference aren't you? Hmmm. Anyway, each time I took my braids out to wash/condition my hair so I could get them done again; I swear GOD must've been angry with me. I was struggling as if devil had touched my head personally as a practical joke. If I had to type it - 4z at the time. And coming from a perm I've had since I was like 8??? JESUS be a fence...I was also using the same products as when I had a perm because - its just hair right?! After I year I cut all the perm off - and there begins my struggle.

There weren't any blogs about natural hair (that I saw) then, and NONE of my friends/family were natural - so I was on my own. I figured I'm a smart girl, I'll figure it out. Did I mention I don't like doing hair? So after many years of trying products, techniques, tools, and styles - I have finally come to a place where it all makes sense. Don't get me wrong, my hair grew during this time - but not because of anything I did! I had to do 3 "big chops." 1. My initial one, 2. After color damage (Why would someone that doesn't like to take care of hair get color? Idiot.), 3. After heat damage. I tried to press my own hair. Does anyone else hear the sound of Super Mario dying in their head...?

So that's my story. My routine is easy. I can use just about any product now because I know how to make it work - even if it wont by itself. Not many "staples." My staples are whats on clearance or on sale with a coupon. I do henna regularly and I love ACV rinses.

As far as personally - Im a HUGE sports fan, and the goal is to be a sports agent. I'm VERY laid back. If you ever see me upset, someone must've done something SUPER deep. My family says I'm unemotional, but I just don't get hyped about things. GOD has been way too good to me for me to even waste a minute on stuff that doesn't matter. Did I mention I love JESUS? Can't say that enough! I'm a shoe/jewelry/accessory connoisseur. Yes CONNOISSEUR honey. At last count (I think it was June or May), I had almost 300 pair of shoes. Don't judge me. And I have 2 huge jewelry boxes, a free standing jewelry armoire, and a toolbox just for rings and studs. Again - don't judge me. A even have 2 40 gallon Sterlite containers just for scarves. It is not a game folks.
