I have black hair and want to use henna for color. I have never colored my hair or used henna before. I want to have a reddish tone. What type of henna should I use?

Hey , i just want to get some feed back on using black soap to wash your hair , does it work well ? leave your hair moist ? also i read that you should do an applecider vinegar rinse after washing with black soap to close the cuticles of the hair..... is this correct ?

I apologize for my absense, and please remember if I'm ever MIA from this site just send me a personal email. @candi anytime you want color use body art quality henna. A popular one is Jamila, Rajisthani is my fave and in our neck of the woods right now rajisthani has the highest lawsone content so it's always a winner. B-N-B also carries an egyptian henna with a similar color and texture to Jamila henna. So a little acid (lemon juice, amla, coconut milk, yougurt, green tea, etc) and a high quality body art quality henna is the way to go for color

Black Soap is a wonderfully, completely natural solution to traditional shampoos but personally I wouldn't recommend or even see the need for doing an ACV rinse after it. Apple Cider Vinegar is often used to clarify hair and scalp but I think you would need to do additional conditioning using these two things as a combo. Use warm water for washing and always seal to retain moisture. Some people actually find acidis rinses to be drying and for that reason I recommend using clays to clarify and detox as opposed to ACV.

Hi There,
You mean Cinnamomum aromaticum, called is also called cassia or Chinese cinnamon to distinguish from Cassia Obovata which is actually in NO WAY related to the cinnamon family at all, so this wuldn't apply to or effect a 'cinnamon allergy" Cassia(chinese cinnamon) is also from the bark of a tree and closely resembles ceylon but taste different , Cassia we use for our hair are the dried leaves of a plant from the same family as Henna and again is no at all related to the Cassia Cinnamomum (green powder as opposed to brown , reddish tree bark) ![]() Hope this helps
