Thanks for the info. The more I look into, I'm sure I'll pick it up quickly. I'm buying a sewing machine this weekend.

I'm planning to make a skirt first. Maybe a maxi skirt then dress... I did some hemming and taking up the other day.

I made a tiered maxi skirt at the beginning of the Summer. I'd say Maxi skirts are my favorite to wear and make they're so easy.

I love maxi skirts and dresses. They are so comfy. I havent yet made one on the sewing machine. That is definitely a future project for me to make.

Once you make one, you'll want to make more. I did a how to for a basic maxi skirt on my blog

@Peepla, If you don't mind waiting, fashionfabricsclub.com has good prices and is always having a sale and/or a special on shipping. They have tons of fabric. I order from them all the time.

No problem! I'm in FL and actually a couple Walmarts in my area have started carrying fabric again. Not a big variety, but they have the basics. And you are right about Joann's, they are ridiculous! Even with coupons, they are still high and constantly have the same fabrics over and over.......
