At the moment, I post weekly how-to's on my blog. I plan to start with bags and accessories first. My favorite thing to do is recreate things by the top designers.

Here's some of my work...

The first pic is an Anthropologie bag I recreated (mine is the solid colored one). The second is a jacket with a matching bag (the bag was also an Anthropologie recreation) the third is a chemise maxi dress I finished last weekend.

Thank you!! No...not yet. But I do plan to start VERY soon. I will definitely post here when I do. I sort of want an Etsy store. But, then again, I kind of want my own site. I'm very nervous about it. Besides making a few bags for my little sisters and some pajama pants and minor alterations for my husband, I've never made anything for anyone. I guess the best thing to do is dive in head first (^_^) #facemyfears

Okay I'm thinking about adding you loads of questions! I am seriously thinking about starting my own business about a year from now after I've done as much research and got enough funds that I can. I keep putting up threads for women who have started businesses themselves and no one ever replies. Also by business I even mean etsy yes, that's included as well, anything where you are in charge of what you are doing and selling what you have made or created. Do you mind telling me your story about how you got to where you are in about to open your own bizz? I would greatly appreciate it and that goes for anyone!
I would like to know too! And I'll be using Big Cartel and probably Etsy too

I'm sorry about the slacking. Seems like the moment I decided to open up a store everyone wanted to order something.

My story is: I've always loved drawing clothes. But in high school I started making shirts for pep rallies. I made shirts for anyone that bought me a t-shirt to do. I only charged $5. Because it wasn't like I had a lot of work to do on them. Then in college I stopped my first semester. Because we didn't have a footbal or basketball team so I didn't have anything to make a shirt for. So I thought. My best friend was on this dance team and did this big show case at the end of the semesters. The captain of the dance team Ken and one of his friends Tracy did shirts, hats, shoes, really they did anything they could get their hands on. They painted, airbursh, and custom made things. So hanging around them I learn how to do a lot of that to. So I became the only girl doing the same thing that they were doing with help and tips from them of course. I learned a lot form them. For instance the best products to use are not always the most expensive ones.

I'm still working on getting my etsy store and website the way I want it. It's a lot of hard work. I did a lot of research first. I read somewhere that you should have atleast 20 things in your etsy store. The more you have the more likely people will buy from you. Of course you need a wide variety of things. Be true to who you are. Don't try and sell things that you wouldn't buy yourself. Making things that are trendy are good but at some point people will stop buying them.

I hope this helps you. And again I apologize for taking so long. I would be happy to help you if you have anymore questions. Youtube also has some great tips to.

Big cartel is the bomb. Thats the perfect site to begin selling your line and really getting it to take off.
