I don't have the book but I use old catalogs. I trace a basic outline of the models. I make three or four different templates. You know...with different poses. After I get the poses the way I want, I trace over them with a sharpie so they'll show up under paper. When I get an idea, I place my paper over the template,trace the pose, pencil in my design and erase the lines in between. After that, I add details etc. Perhaps you could try that. It saves me time from having to draw a body or pose first. Hope that helps.

Oh this is a good idea! Right now for my sketches, it's just a very, very basic gesturally drawn silhouette lol. I just focus on the clothes but I need to get better at drawing the models. It's funny bc I can actually draw lol

OK I know I'm slacking with the links and all but I want everything to be finish and perfect before I post them. But I do have some more exciting news I'm thinking of opening up a store in my hometown. I actually found the store and everything.Its huge and on the main street. I live in a small town we only have one red light and one caution light. and lucky for me the store is in front of the red light. Prime location (LOL). I'm really considering it so I'll keep y'all posted on my decision.

I'm the same way you can give me anything but a person to draw and I can. I'm really trying to improve on drawing models but there always seems to be something wrong with them.

Okay I'm thinking about adding you loads of questions! I am seriously thinking about starting my own business about a year from now after I've done as much research and got enough funds that I can. I keep putting up threads for women who have started businesses themselves and no one ever replies. Also by business I even mean etsy yes,that's included as well,anything where you are in charge of what you are doing and selling what you have made or created. Do you mind telling me your story about how you got to where you are in about to open your own bizz? I would greatly appreciate it and that goes for anyone!

Okay all of you ladies are really inspiring me, I've thought about posting a thread about what I do,but I didn't think anyone would reply. I think ill do it anyway,but for now I hope y'all don't mind me joining. I have always created things ,fell off of that and have just started again. My passion is taking simple things,things that are deemed no longer useful for its purpose or things no one wants anymore and turn it into art. I am really leaning more towards doing inspirational things because I know I can always use some upliftings words as much as possible. So far I have just been creating,but soon ill be working on two pieces that actually inspire. I've done two projects so far and am working on one,but will be starting on about two more this weekend. Keep it up ladies,I really enjoy this thread!
