You think so? He even said earlier in the movie that he had no intentions of dying there. Idk. I just didn't think that was really what he wanted. I could be wrong though. I guess I just hate to see a good guy die like that.

Just saw django with my dad and we both loved it. I was surprise because I didn't think he could handle the gore, but under the circumstances of the film he laughed it off.

At the end of the film an older African American man who looked to be in his 70s told my dad and I about his grandfather and how he went through something similar. The man said his grandfather's wife was raped by the town sheriff in front of him, in Texas. So the grandfather went and killed the sheriff and they fled to Oklahoma. So for him he was glad to see a story like this and I'm glad he shared his story with me to share with you all.

The only problem I had was with some of the audience's reaction. I'm only speaking for my self but I thought it was insensitive and disrespectful when some people started laughing at the scene when django was upside down and naked about to get castrated. That turned my stomach when I heard people laugh. I mean these were real situations that slaves dealt with. I was just so disappointed 😪

Newme, that is so cool that you and your Dad got to hear that man's story. As African Americans, our history is so intricate, it always amazes me.

As for the castration scene, there was a bit of laughter in my theater also, but I think it was more a reaction to the shock of the scene, not ha ha funny laughter.
